FireBoy and WaterGirl would seem to have a difficult time getting along, wouldn't you think? After all, if they go too near to one other, they could turn into a puff of smoke or a wisp of steam, depending on the situation.
In FireBoy and WaterGirl: The Hidden Forest, however, they are unable to survive without one another since each level is an ingeniously designed puzzle that can only be completed by the two characters working together.
In the newest episode of the iconic FireBoy and WaterGirl series, you'll find yourself trying to steer each character to their own distinctive exit by pulling levers, triggering gadgets, and generally navigating your way through a series of Rube Goldberg-style puzzles.
The important thing to remember is that some components may only interact with one of the characters at a time. WaterGirl can only interact with items that are blue in color, while FireBoy can only interact with objects that are red in color. Additionally, although both are incapable of living in water, the former is also incapable of surviving in fire.
Material that can kill both characters, as well as buttons and levers that can be utilized by either of them, may also be found in the room.
Typically, this comprises WaterGirl going down one route while FireBoy walks down another, or one of them standing on a pressure pad to enable the other to get through a closed door.
While playing, you'll encounter situations where you'll need to figure out how to get Fireboy and Watergirl to the appropriate locations in the correct sequence in order to complete the level, such as shifting weights or pushing down pressure pads.
